What does the Executive Committee do? : The Group Executive Committee supports the Group Scout Leader and ensures the effective administration of the Scout Group. The Group Executive Committee aims to make sure that the Scout Group has the facilities and resources needed to deliver good Scouting in the Group. What do I have to do? : You will act as a representative of the Group Council i.e. the parents of all the members. You will be required to attend the Executive meetings (usually held in January, April and September) and the AGM. You may also be asked to sit on any sub committees which are established for specific purposes. Do I have to be CRB checked? : YES. All our Leaders & Executive members are CRB checked. You only need to complete a standard form. It costs you nothing. But I have no Scouting Experience : That does not matter. You will receive support from the Group Chairman and other members of the Committee. Having parents as part of the Committee helps to broaden the membership of the Executive and brings in people from other parts of the local community. Assistant Leaders & Adult Helpers Required from : ASAP Why are there vacancies? : With our current large membership numbers and very active waiting lists, we can never have too much help! With more Adults we can open up the opportunity for more young people to join Scouting. |

What do I have to do? : You will be supporting the Beaver/Cub/Scout Leader. Helping at the weekly meetings, planning activities and games.
Do I have to pay for my Uniform? : NO. The Group pays for your uniform.
Do I have to be CRB checked? : YES. All our Leaders are CRB checked. You only need to complete a standard form. It costs you nothing.
But I have no Scouting Experience : That does not matter. You will receive support from other Leaders and helpers. You can also speak with our Group Training Officer, who will provide you with reading and on-line material to help you out.
